Bitcoin Press Release: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Bitcoin Saigon community is about to host the first “Bitfilm Festival” in Saigon at 28th of November 2015. The world’s most renowned Bitcoin Film Festival is continuing its worldwide tour and is taking place for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City / Vietnam.
The Bitfilm Festival will take place at Officience (117B Nguyen Dinh Chinh, Phu Nhuan District, HCMC) on Saturday, November 28th – starting at noon and ending at approx. 10 PM. It will be followed by online voting for the best film/ best “BitFilm” and a worldwide tour which includes screenings in Amsterdam, Budapest, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Luxemburg, Mexico, Buenos Aires, Ubud/Bali and San Francisco. Free entry to the event for all who are curious about Bitcoin and Blockchain technology.
The Bitfilm Festival is the world’s film festival about Bitcoin. It will start a new competition for films about Bitcoin and Blockchain technology accompanied by a worldwide tour of film screenings. “We reinvented our festival last year”, says Aaron Koenig, who founded the Bitfilm Festival in 2000.
The Bitfilm Festival has started with a kick-off event in Berlin’s Kino Central on October 31st. It will be followed by a worldwide tour of cinema screening organised by local Bitcoin communities. So far Amsterdam, Budapest, Buenos Aires, London, Luxemburg, Madrid, Mexico, San Francisco, Saigon and Ubud/Bali have been confirmed, more events will be announced soon.
The voting will take place on the Bitcoin blockchain. Each film will have its individual Bitcoin address. By donating money to the films they like best, viewers can decide who will win the awards for the best feature and the best short film.
