CryptList Part 1 – Bitcoin Probably Has More Benefits in Asia – Coin News

What if Craigslist were all about Bitcoin? That’s what Evander Smart’s CryptList is all about. Prior to launching this momentous project, Coin News has spoken with Evander regarding this new advertising platform.

Jay-R Gatdula: Hi Evander. Thanks for speaking with us. We’re going to talk a bit about CryptList, but first, can you give us a bit of a background on how you come to the Bitcoin world?

Evander Smart: My background is in banking, as I worked on Wall Street from 2008 to 2011, and I was able to learn how the current economic system works from the inside, looking behind the curtain. I left the banking industry because the common man, the consumer, is milked like a cow by the bankers, and I think we should have a much better system than that. I read the book “The Creature from Jeckyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin, and watch the movie “Zeitgeist”, and that filled in a lot of holes as to where we’ve been and where we are going.

I wish I could remember what exposed Bitcoin to me, but I do know it was in the summer of 2013, when you see values reach $100 USD for the first time, so many people got onboard then.

JG:  Can you tell me about CryptList? How long did it take you to launch your business?

ES: The business is still launching! It is really just an idea that the Bitcoin community may decide its future. Think of it as a rocket ship trying to get out of Earth’s atmosphere, many never make it, but some do make history. I will need the help of many other Bitcoin astronauts to pull this off.

The concept and web design are mine, and really only took all my free time and money over the last few months. Sweat equity. I had a vision, and was able to realize it, at least in design. Now, the techie parts, which are above me, need to handled to pull it all together. IT and coding, integrating Bitcoin payments systems, data security, mobile app development, SEO, etc.

CryptList is about 75% there. I’ll need help to get it the rest of the way.

JG: There are many crypto ventures coming out. What can you say is the best thing about CryptList compared to them?

ES: The biggest benefit of creating your own venture is just that. You get to use your creative abilities, have control of it, and nurture it, like a child. The most fun about having a child is making one, right?

JG: Indeed. Bitcoin is an intricate piece of tech. What do you think is preventing it from going mainstream?

ES: Bitcoin is still evolving, like the Internet did in the 1990’s The Internet used to be about IP addresses in order to communicate. Once that technical aspect was moved to the background, the common man got much more comfortable with the new tech. Same with Bitcoin. We need to evolve past the common Bitcoin address, and present something easier for common folk to use. The biggest problem is just general public ignorance. Bitcoin can be very complicated, but people like to learn new technologies, especially after the Internet. The Bitcoin community needs to work on educating the public on how it works and why we all need it to work.

JG: How do you think bitcoin will affect the Asian market in particular?

ES: Bitcoin probably has more benefits in Asia and non-Western markets than anywhere else. Anywhere people would like an appreciating asset, faster remittances, and less reliance on banks and government, Bitcoin will be a major asset class going forward. This is just the beginning.

Think of Bitcoin as you would a 7 year old child. A very gifted 7 year old child. In 10-15 years, the world will be amazed at what Bitcoin has brought to the table.
