Fred Ki: The planning and development stage has started from Feb 2015. On 1st October 2015, we have the service opened to public. Unlike existing financial system such as bank, Credit Card Company, digital payment firm’s transaction which always incur service charge, bitcoin can overcome the trading barriers between countries without supervision. From the perspective of a network currency which reduces a large part of trading fee, we should not simply see bitcoin just as a cryptocurrency but seeing the correlation with large variety of industries and go challenge it.
CNA: Every Bitcoin enthusiast has gone through a journey – what ignited your interest in bitcoin?
FK: In Jan 2015, a famous Japanese public economist Noguchi, who is also an honorary professor of Hitotsubashi University said, “The principle of bitcoin has extended to create new services which give safer and easier access of digital currency, especially the money related concept and habit of general public has been changed.” The core of bitcoin is to ‘Remit without supervision’. Remembering combination of Finance and IT, so called FinTech, is the hot topic of financial industry recently; I believe vitalization of the bitcoin FinTech industry is the main reason to get interested in it.
CNA: What can you say is the best thing about your venture in comparison with other crypto-related ventures?
FK: Well, I would say comparing us with competitors is meaningless because there’s not so many bitcoin settlement service providers yet. If you insist to count our advantage, that will be customers’ trust and accurate, speedy answering service. If you delay or do not react fast enough to customers’ request, you are preparing to lose them. In the future, we are going to hear more customer’s voice from social network like Facebook, Twitter and Weibo, etc.
